Two separate and unrelated cases of avian influenza have been confirmed in England, and restrictions are in place. Earlier this week low pathogenic avian influenza (H5N2) was confirmed on a small commercial poultry premises in Kent and also highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N8 in Cheshire. How is your biosecurity? We should all have a plan; much harder to make when birds are in the open.
